Tidewater September Business Meeting

Hello Tidewater AACN Community!

Thank You to all who came out to YNOT for our first meeting of the new fiscal year! It was great seeing some new faces from the Sentara Heart Hospital, and Chesapeake Regional! Please check back soon for the minutes that will be posted under the "meeting minutes" tab in Nursing Network.  Before we meet next, I wanted to remind you of a few important things!  These reminders pertain mainly to upcoming events and our next meeting.

1)  Next meeting is September 8th at the Barrel Room 6-8 PM  in Chesapeake (For our NC friends, the drive should be easier!) Please register on Nursing Network for the event!

2)  A voting business meeting means that you must be a MEMBER to vote   

3)  To be a member, you must first belong to the National AACN as a member, then Tidewater! You can find us on AACN.org--> chapters tab --> find a chapter ---> Tidewater Chapter AACN --> Join!

4)   At our September 8th meeting, we will put the recommendation from the Board to increase dues to $30 for members and $20 for students to a vote. We know there's a great line up and benefits you have with our Chapter, so this money goes a long way in designing programs, education, offering scholarships, and more!

5)  Do you want AWESOME Tidewater AACN SWAG!? Sure, we all do! Please help us design some shirts that we will use in fundraising, promos, giveaways, etc.! Please find attached the official Tidewater AACN Logo you may use to help you design your ideas! Once you design something, send it to DerekRFree@gmail.com so I can compile the choices. We will then take a vote on either Facebook, or at our meeting on a design we like! I'll submit a sample that was created to jog your idea lovin minds!

6)  We will be posting an AACN Chapter Assessment survey for you to complete soon! We will also bring paper copies to Chesapeake.  This survey helps the Board know where we are, and where you as members want to go! Please fill it out when you see it! 

7) If you have ANYTHING you want us to discuss at the upcoming meeting, please email me or submit your request through Facebook or Nursing Network so I can add the item to the meeting agenda.  The agenda will close 1-week before the meeting date (9/1/25).

8) Please find the attached Calendar of events so you can block your schedules and join us! We want you there! We have some exciting dinners coming up that are sponsored by area reps, so make sure you register for those on nursing network ASAP to secure your spot for FREE DINNER and LEARNING! = )

9) IF you haven't joined us on Facebook....WHY NOT? Jump on and request to join the Tidewater AACN to stay up to date, and stay engaged in the happenings!
