As an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice and MBA coursework, Derek's mission is to transform the way Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers and Critical Care/Progressive Care Nurses are trained, supported, and sustained within healthcare systems. Grounded in clinical excellence and driven by innovation, he designs scalable fellowship and onboarding models that foster procedural mastery, critical thinking, and collaborative growth. At the core of his work is a commitment to Healthy Work Environment Standards and inclusive leadership — creating climates of belonging, professionalism, and excellence where providers thrive and patient outcomes flourish.  A native Ohioan, Derek now calls Hampton Roads home. 

Lois is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and long-time member of AACN and the local Tidewater Chapter.  She has served in many roles including past president.  She enjoys networking with other Critical Care and Progressive Care nurses and sharing her knowledge.  She has participated in many NTIs as both a participant and a speaker.

In her spare time, Lois likes to travel to new places and meet new people.
